The potential for energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformations in key industries is enormous. China is a major manufacturing country, with the manufacturing industry scale ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years, accounting for about 30% of the global share, and many types of machinery and equipment holdings rank first in the world. According to estimates by relevant institutions, the net value of the current social equipment stock assets is about 40 trillion yuan. With the in-depth advancement of new industrialization and new urbanization, the demand for advanced equipment is increasing. In key areas such as industry, construction, transportation, and energy, promoting the update and transformation of high-energy-consuming and high-emission equipment such as boilers, motors, steam turbines, transformers, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and lighting will benefit both enterprises and the public, releasing huge market potential.

Promoting energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformations in key industries helps to cultivate and develop new quality productive forces. New quality productive forces are inherently green productive forces. Promoting the "two new" work, with the improvement of technology, energy consumption, and emission standards as the traction, will promote industrial upgrading and the development of new quality productive forces. Preliminary calculations show that this year, more than 500 energy-using equipment update projects supported by long-term special treasury bond funds have a total investment of more than 50 billion yuan. With the improvement of energy efficiency level as the focus, promote the update and replacement of key energy-using equipment such as boilers, motors, transformers, refrigeration and heating air compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, etc. in various fields such as industry, and promote the application of second-level and above energy-saving equipment. It is worth noting that the National Development and Reform Commission takes the energy-saving effect of project implementation as an important standard for project selection, and includes projects with an annual electricity saving of more than 500,000 kilowatt-hours or an annual energy saving of more than 150 tons of standard coal after equipment transformation into the support range, in order to benefit more small and medium-sized enterprises.
